How does Plume help me understand myself?
By keeping what memory drops. A few lines a day become a record of what you felt, chose and did. Insights show the themes of your weeks, the entry from one year ago shows how far you’ve come, and Introspection lets you ask questions of any period of your journal through a lens such as pattern recognition, values alignment or decision support.
What does the coach actually read?
Only the entries in the period you pick, and only when you start a session. AI is off by default. Introspection uses the AI provider you configure with your own API key, which stays in your Keychain; the entries included in a request are sent to that provider.
Is Plume a replacement for therapy?
No. Plume is a journal and a reflection tool, not a therapist or a medical service. If you’re struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
Is Plume a private journal app?
Your entries live in an encrypted database on your device, and Plume doesn’t need an account. Plume’s App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”.5 If you turn on sync, entries are encrypted on your device, with a key derived from your sync passphrase, before they’re uploaded to your private iCloud database.
How does the free trial work?
You get 21 writing days with every feature unlocked, and only the days you actually write count. No account or card is needed. When the trial ends, Plume becomes read-only: you can still read, search, sync and export everything you wrote.
Yearly or Lifetime?
Both unlock the same app, including every future feature. Yearly is $19.99 a year and you can cancel anytime. Lifetime is a single $59.99 payment. U.S. prices; the App Store shows the price for your region.
