Journal With Your Voice
Add gratitudes, memories, accomplishments, and journal entries using Siri — hands-free, without ever opening the app. All commands are built on Apple's App Intents framework.
Journaling Commands
These commands run entirely through Siri — the app never needs to open. Say the phrase, dictate your thought, and it's saved to today's entry.
Gratitude
Adds a gratitude to today's entry. Siri asks for the text.
Memory
Adds a memory to today's entry. Siri asks for the text.
Accomplishment
Adds an accomplishment to today's entry. Siri asks for the text.
Journal
Appends text to today's journal entry. Siri asks for the text.
Siri matches natural variations automatically
You don't need to say these phrases exactly. Siri uses Apple's App Shortcuts system to understand variations like "I want to log a gratitude" or "save an accomplishment in Plume."
Voice Recording
Start a live voice-to-text recording session. Plume opens and begins transcribing immediately using on-device speech recognition.
Start Voice Recording
Opens Plume and starts live speech-to-text. Recording begins immediately — no extra taps needed.
How It Works
Runs entirely via Siri
The app never needs to open. Siri handles the entire interaction in the background.

Siri asks for details
"What are you grateful for?"
Dictate your thought
"My morning walk in the sunshine"
Saved instantly
Written directly to today's entry in the database
Opens the app with live transcription
Launches the in-app speech-to-text overlay with a live transcript you can review.
Say a command
"Hey Siri, start voice journal in Plume"
Plume opens
Recording overlay appears and starts immediately
Speak freely
Live transcript appears as you talk using on-device SFSpeechRecognizer
Tap "Done"
Review and save the transcribed entry
Completely Private
All voice processing happens on your device using Apple's built-in speech recognition. No audio is sent to external servers. Your words go straight from your voice to your local journal — nowhere else.
